From Blakely:
Introducing, Anna B. Albury! She is a designer based in Brooklyn, NY. Currently, Anna is working as a Rug designer at Crosby Street Studios and freelancing as an Interior Stylist and Content Creator. And with all her free time… she has co-founded the design-forward, NYC-based newsletter & website coolstuff.nyc, alongside her husband Garrett. NYC can be overwhelming, and the Albury’s break it down so you never miss any of the good stuff!
I found Anna’s work when a friend of mine shared some iconic images from her and Garrett’s wedding. You can see her love of color transcends her designs into her fashion choices and home. You are going to love her art collection— keep an eye out for the checkered floral piece (I may have to steal that one!).
Enjoy!
MANTEL + SITTING AREA
For Renee | Gemma Bailey | @studio.bailey
“Each week in our coolstuff newsletter, we feature a “cool friend” - like a chef, artist or an all-around interesting NY native, and most of the time, we ourselves are fans or admirers of that person’s work. We featured artist Gemma Bailey’s work in the newsletter, back in 2022 and soon knew we needed to have one of her mystical and deeply unique pieces in our own home. When she listed this painting on her IG page a few years back and that it was for sale… we drove upstate to her studio in Beacon, NY and then drove it back home to Brooklyn. It hangs on our mantel in the bedroom and the mystery and fluidity in the painting will forever captivate me.”
Margot Commission | Carly Beck | @thisiscarlybeck
“This year for Christmas, I commissioned Carly to paint our new little puppy Margot, at our favorite bar, Bemelmen’s Bar - at the Carlyle Hotel on the Upper East Side. When Carly asked what I wanted her to be wearing (since she’s at a bar, she needs to be dressed like a lady!) - and I told Carly that Margot would wear Ganni, of course. I love the result and now my mission is to make this scenario a reality and bring Margot to the bar sometime soon.”
